airth Very long time no hear from you. Welcome back! Most modern economists not only do not read Adam Smith's two main Works )Moral Sentiments (1759) and Wealth of Nations (1776) but also do not know much about his biography, despite five very good biographies since 1795. Ian Ross wrote the best biography on Smith. 2nd edition 2010. Put the two sources together and we get the authentic Adam Smith, especially his Lectures on Rhetoric and Belles Lettres and his Lectures on Jurisprudence. Gavin
Good news on both fronts!
ReplyDeleteI am just wondering why it is authentic and what makes it authentic.
